For all the information Download Student Housing Guide

The Accommodation Office

The Accommodation Office is part of Student Services, they provide and manages a wide range of student accommodation, including Halls of Residence and private sector flats, houses and lodgings.

For general enquiries contact accommodation@glos.ac.uk or alternatively visit www.glos.ac.uk/studentservices

The Halls Team

Residential Support Advisors run the halls on all campuses, allocating students to rooms and offering expert help and advice to the students. You will see the Residential Support Advisers a lot more out and about around the campuses. They are on hand to discuss any questions you may have about your halls.

Residential Assistants live in the halls of residences with you and are normally returning students who have lived in halls before enabling them to help you settle in to your new accommodation and be on hand as a friendly face and a first point of contact.

Contact the Halls Team on 01242 714544 or email accommodation@glos.ac.uk

The Housing Team

The housing team offer advice and guidance on all issues relating to privately let off-site housing. The team has responsibility for registering the properties that are advertised on StudentPad. All properties are visited and details checked to ensure compliance with the University Registration criteria.

The Housing Team are able to act as mediators between landlords and tenants should any problems occur and can also signpost to other relevant services.

Whatever your query, wherever you live in off-site accommodation Contact the Housing Team on 01242 715322 or email housingsupport@glos.ac.uk

Students are strongly recommended to wait for the release of the Univeristy Registered Housing List early in the new year before searching for properties. Information on how to access the list will be sent to students email prior to the release date.

The Benefits of Houses on the Registered List

  • All properties registered with the University are fully furnished and have to fulfil certain health and safety criteria, which is over and above the legal requirements needed by the council.
  • The Housing Team is here for you and your interests.  Our aim is to ensure provision of good quality, safe accommodation at a fair rent without ‘hidden’ costs.
  • The Housing Team has specialised staff in place to offer advice, support and guidance with any problems or queries you may have.
  • The Housing Team are here to help throughout the year.  Although your contract is with the landlord of the property, if you need advice you can always come and see us, we are happy to help with any query or problem you may have.

Who to live with?

Think carefully about who you are intending to share the accommodation with as you will be spending a lot of time with them and there will be no easy way to change this once contracts are signed.

Think about the personalities and lifestyles of your potential housemates and dont feel pressured into a situation you aren't happy with.

You will be signing a legal document stating you will stay in the property for a period of time; you cannot just leave half-way through, ensure you are happy with your choices and speak to someone if you need support.
