PEER MENTORING 2010/2011

Are you interested in helping 1st year students settle into university life during their first Semester? Are you able to support a new student by sharing your subject knowledge? Do you have a couple of hours per week available from Induction Week through to February?

We have a particular request for Peer Mentors that have recently come from a Gloucestershire school, (or compact), as half of our mentors will work with local students.

You will be fully trained and supported throughout. This will enhance your CV and you will learn some new skills and be paid £8.90 per hour.

STUDENTS’ UNION ELECTED EXECUTIVE OFFICERS

On 25th March, the UoG students will be electing students to lead and develop the Students' Union and to represent the membership to the University and external organisations.

There are 3 paid full time Officer roles:

President; Education and Welfare Officer and Sports Officer.
Full Time Officers: 35 hrs pw minimum (some unsocial hours involved)
 

and 11 part time unpaid Officer roles:
Exec Secretary; Education Executive; Events Executive; Mature Students’ Executive; International Students’ Executive; LGBT Students’ Executive; Multi Cultural Executive; Sports Executive; Disabled Students’ Executive; Media Executive and Environment Executive.
Part Time Officers: variable, usually up to 3 hours pw.

For all roles, you should be interested in student and Higher Education issues, as well as having the drive and motivation to take the Students' Union forward to the benefit of the membership.

You must be a current student of the University of Gloucestershire who is enrolled on a programme of study at the University of Gloucestershire.

BAR STAFF – GLOUCESTER RUGBY CLUB

Bar staff are required to work at Gloucester rugby Club on home match days. You will be responsible for taking orders, pouring pints and taking money. The club has various bars that are available to work in and the hours will change on a week to week basis as the kick off times may alter. No experience required as full training provided. CUSTOMER SERVICE CONSULTANTS

Endsleigh Insurance is looking for Customer Service Consultants to take on part time shifts at their Cheltenham offices.
Whatever the clients have taken out insurance for – contents, cars or pets – you’ll make sure that their policies are up to date. For example, if a customer upgrades to a better car, you’ll make the necessary changes to their insurance. These jobs involve responding to inbound calls only.

TO BE A CUSTOMER SERVICE CONSULTANT…..
You need to have attention to detail and a great way with people. You must enjoy talking both on the phone and to your team. You have also got to be prepared for deadlines, targets and giving brilliant customer service. Experience is not essential, but if you have some then that is great.

HOURS….
Endsleigh have several part-time opportunities to join then. The part-time hours would be shifts within the following opening hours; Monday to Friday 5pm – 9pm, Saturday 9am – 8pm and Sunday 10am – 6pm. You must work a minimum of 16 hours per week.
The hourly rate is £6.67 - £7.18 plus bonuses.
