Superstars are those fantastic students welcoming you in as you arrive at this university and assisting throughout the Freshers Weeks. A team building and training day provides an induction into this massive effort. The venture is most rewarding and appreciated by all concerned + we are already recruiting for next year!

Superstars '09 - Comments from a Superstar

I enjoyed being a part of someone’s first experience at university, was proud to be part of the team and would love to repeat the experience!

Through my involvement in the scheme last year I discovered just how fun and rewarding being a Superstar is!

An amazing way to meet new people; I had an awesome time!

A Fresher’s account of Superstar assistance

On my first day heading to U of G I was so scared of moving in.

Who I was going to be living with?

How would I cope away from home?

Will I make friends?

On my arrival I was greeted by the superstars that made me take a sigh of relief from the very start. They were all smiley, happy people ready straight away to assist and made moving in so much easier.
Throughout the week they helped me if I was lost and also were at the SU providing information about where to get advice, the nearest shops and just a general tour of the campus facilities. This settled my nerves as one of my concerns when I came here was that I would get lost and be alone.

As the Superstars were beneficial to me I want to join the team myself to help other freshers’ experience a similar fortnight of fresher life, and life at the University of Gloucestershire.
