Women's Captain

Kira Borlase

22
Education Studies, 2nd year.
Why did you join Lacrosse? I joined Lacrosse because it seemed like a great way of meeting new people, trying a different sport, and having fun. When I saw the stand at the Welcome Fayre in my first year, everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and gave off the close knitted family vibe. I definitely chose the right club to join and it has massively enhanced my uni expereince.
Why did you join the committee? I wanted to be part of the committee this year as I felt I could really make a positive change to the team. I want to further embed the family feel, create sessions that are fun and productive, and provide a space where it feels like you can talk to anyone, feel welcome, let off steam, celebrate successes, and share problems. This year is all about creating an environment that is safe and happy, and keeping the morale of the team high, particularly in the unusual circumstances we are currently experiencing.

Why did you join Lacrosse? I came to university knowing I wanted to join a sports team, I just hadn't figured out which one yet. I'm always very keen to try new things so when I saw lacrosse at the Welcome Fayre I thought I should give it ago. I've never been massively sporty but always enjoyed exercise and wanted to do more at uni. Like most other people who join lacrosse, I had never played the sport before or really understood the game at all. After the first taster session I was hooked, everyone was so freindly and welcoming and after a few sessions I really the unique family vibe of the club. Joining the Lacrosse Club was definitely the best decision I made at university and I haven't looked back since.
Why did you join the committee? I joined the committee because I wanted that little bit more involvement within the club. I went for the role of Marketing Secretary because I felt like it was best suited to me and that I could bring a lot to the table as I have a strong background in marketing having previously studied a marketing and business diploma for a year.

Community Engagement Officer

Patrick Fotheringham

22
Sports Therapy, 2nd year.
Why did you join Lacrosse? I joined lacrosse because it was a sport I had enjoyed and been interested in playing, but never had the chance to play competitively until I got to university.
Why did you join the committee? I became welfare and community officer because I really care about the well-being of the lax family and want to help people where I can.
