Description

New Numbers: New Approaches’ The Dymock Poets and the special collection at the University of Gloucestershire

This event is open to students and staff across the University but should be of particular interest to those in the Faculty of Media, Arts and Technology. The conference takes place over the weekend of 6/7 June. As a whole the two days will explore the fascinating links between the Dymock Collection held here at UoG, the literature and its engagement with the landscape and with old and new imaginaries of Gloucestershire.

On the Saturday, alongside formal presentations there will be a performance of an innovative piece of drama written by emerging playwrights on the MA in Creative and Critical Writing. The play will be accompanied by specially-commissioned music.

On the Sunday the conference offers you the opportunity to explore the village of Dymock through a number of guided walks. These will explore the landscapes which inspired the authors, and the places where their families interacted with each other and the local community.
