We provide life-changing therapy to over 200 riders with physical and/or learning disabilities. Our youngest rider is 3 years old and our oldest rider has just celebrated her 78th birthday.
We need volunteers to help in the riding lessons by walking alongside the pony and encouraging and supporting the rider.
You do not need any experience of horses, although it helps, as we give training in all you need to know, and will buddy you up with an experienced volunteer.
We have a great team who will welcome you and support you. Volunteering with us is a good way to meet new people, gain new skills and you will be making a real difference to our riders.
You need to be fit enough to stand and walk, with short bursts of jogging, for a couple of hours. It is great gentle exercise!
- We give lessons Monday to Friday 10am to 3.30pm. Volunteers can give one to two hours at a time, or you can stay all day.
- We do after school sessions Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 4 - 6.30pm.
- We do sessions from 8.30am to 1pm on a Sunday.
So very flexible volunteering hours to suit you!
