General Info

We are brand new society for the year 2018/2019, with the goal of improving the performance skills of every society member, while having as much fun as possible in a friendly environment.

Our committee and teaching staff is full of some very hardworking people who are passionate about performing arts, and want some form of career in the industry, so they know what they're talking about!

We will be covering all the theatre disciplines of drama, dance and singing, taught by our fantastic set of teachers. The weekly lessons include the following;

  • Beginners' Tap
  • Advanced Tap
  • Beginners' Jazz
  • Commercial Jazz
  • Technical Jazz
  • Contemporary
  • Stage Combat
  • Improvisation
  • Script Work
  • Body Conditioning

We also run one-on-one singing sessions with an outside teacher (free of charge to members) and one-off sessions upon demand, for example, theatre make-up, ensemble work, ballet, etc and can provide help and advice on any personal performance work you may be doing outside of the lessons.

You can attend as many or as few lessons as you want, there is no commitment to the class; we'll inform you on what will be covered each week prior to the lesson, so you can decided whether you're interested or not, but we always encourage everyone to take part! Check out our timetable page for more information on lessons and their times, for one-offs and our important dates. Contact our president Natasha for one-on-one singing lessons.

We arrange theatre trips to see drama and musical theatre pieces when we can, organised to be as cheap and accessible for everyone as possible. We have stash coming soon for those really committed to the society, or for those who just want some new gear with their name on it!

On top of all of that we have socials on Wednesday which are a mixture of drinking and non-drinking, so if you like to go hard there is something for you, or if you don't drink there is also something for you too! We never make anyone do anything they don't want to, so even if you don't drink but want to turn up for the drinking socials, that's a-okay! And if you want to drink at a non-drinking social, that's a-okay! Check out our socials page for more information on the upcoming socials we have planned!

Have a look round our site for more information, or if you have any questions, don't be afraid to contact us through our social media, via our e-mail, or contact our president, Tash via e-mail at s1612624@connect.glos.ac.uk
