Campaign for an earlier release of timetables
Timetables at UoG are released far too late with too many last-minute changes; the implications of which are felt far and wide, especially for students with caring responsibilities. As your SU Education Officer, I will lobby the university to commit to releasing semester and exam timetables by a specific date; leaving plenty of time for planning extra-curricular and caring responsibilities around your studies.
Implement course-specific student-led mentoring schemes
I truly believe in the value of peer support, which is why I established a student-led mentoring scheme within the School of Health and Social Care this year. As your SU Education Officer, I will work hard to expand this scheme across more courses, so new students always have someone to turn to.
Lobby for clearer guidance on academic regulations
The university’s academic regulations can be confusing at the best of times, let alone if you’re being told you’ve breached them. As your SU Education Officer, I will work to ensure all students have access to clear and understandable guidelines, as well as the knowledge of what to do if a breach has occurred.
